I have been working with stress, depression, wellbeing and self esteem issues with clients for 22 years as certified counsellor, life coach and complementary therapist. Many of these years as a neurocoach/biodynamic massage therapist also inform my work from the aspect of how our mind affects our body, and our body affects our mind.
Special interests are:
Sensory Processing Sensitivity (SPS) and High Sensory Processing (HSP) – stress – self-confidence – downsizing – men and emotion – women in organisational settings – the bioscience of applying awareness and self-compassion to our thought processes – asexuality/LGBTQA – positive psychology – life changes – becoming self-employed – ‘coming out’, of any kind, including HSP/SPS.
BSc Honours degree in Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling – Certificates/Completions in: Neuroscience in Therapy – Teaching Meditation and Mindfulness – Adlerian Counselling – Solution Focused Therapy – Short Term/Single Session Solution Focused CBT – Imagework – Resilience Facilitator Training – CBT based Acceptance and Commitment Therapy – Life Coaching – Creative Art Therapy for Adults – City and Guilds Teaching Adults/Community Education (insured to teach).
I am a registered, insured member of UKCP as an Intersubjective Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, and work in line with their Code of Practice and Ethics, attending regular supervision twice-monthly and many CPD events annually. I am also a member of CThA, BHMA, ACBS and work for a counselling charity in Cambridge as a counsellor and area representative.
We meet at St Andrews Hall, Chesterton, Cambridge and Madingley Road, Cambridge. We can also work by Skype, Zoom or email.
Out of work – deep friendships, gardening, spirituality, travel, art, cookery, film and literature fill my time … when not reading about psychology…
